Michelle's on her way
Michelle left today for Italy. Being the techno-geek that I am, I wanted to watch the progress of her flight across the Atlantic. So I found the really cool site that allows you to do just that. It's called Flightview.com (http://www.flightview.com/). As I write this, she is approaching the southwest coast of Ireland at 37,000 ft, going 650 mph.
She is expected to land in Paris, France (as opposed to Paris, Texas...) about 1:00 am Houston time (8:00 am Italian time). She has a bit of a layover in France, and then a "short" flight from Charles De Gaulle to Turin, Italy. She should arrive there at 7:10 am Houston time (2:10 pm Italian time). I hope she got some sleep on the plane, 'cause otherwise she's going to be extremely tired when she arrives...and Michelle doesn't react well to lack of sleep. ![]()
Speaking of times, I discovered another cool website that will tell you the current time in hundreds of different locations around the world. It's pretty cool. I just wanted to know what time it was now, but it also has meeting planning tools (useful for those Russian telecons we're always having). It's called the World Time Server (http://www.worldtimeserver.com/).
Alright, that's enough tracking of my globe-trekking wife for one night.
UPDATED: Michelle has arrived safe and sound in Turin. I got a call from her at 8:30 am Saturday morning. She's tired (who wouldn't be?), and plans to spend the rest of the weekend resting up and possibly doing a bit of exploring.
