I just got back from seeing the new movie, Superman Returns. And I have to say: It's great!
Of course it can't be perfect, but I really liked the way they used the music (John Williams' theme is everywhere) and how they used memorable camera shots to tie this movie to the Christopher Reeve films (which is what I think of when you say a "Superman movie").

Things I liked: the action scenes are superb, the cgi is flawless, Brandon Routh does a good job as both Superman and Clark Kent, Kevin Spacey is a pretty good Lex Luthor, the fanciful shots in the trailer are explained, and there is an interesting new twist to the Superman story.

Things I didn't particularly like: Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane (she wasn't a strong enough character compared to Margo Kidder or Teri Hatcher), the "love story" overshadowed Lex Luthor's evil deeds, and they took lots of liberties when it comes to aerodynamics and aerospace vehicle functionality (is that vague enough for you?)(I know...don't take a rocket scientist to a airplane movie).

I would definitely see this movie again, and I plan to: when Michelle and I get back from vacation (funny how all of my thoughts seem to end up back on her ). Anyways, we'll have a short list of movies to see, because Pirates of the Carribean 2 comes out soon, too!
