Vote!
It's election day! So, we procrastinated and waited until the night before to decide who to vote for. Here's basically how my decision process worked:
1. Any candidate without a means for me to learn about their viewpoints (i.e. website or article in the voter's guide of the paper) doesn't get my vote.
2. Any candidate who spent more than 1 paragraph online or in the paper bashing the other candidate(s) doesn't get my vote.
3. If there is anybody left in the running, then I figure out which one I agree most with.
4. If there isn't anybody left, then I attempt to figure out which one I agree most with. If I can't, then I vote based on which party line I would prefer in that job.
It's not complicated, but it does take a while to figure out my candidates. Plus, it takes a while to figure out what the heck I'm voting for! Even then, there were a bunch of county elections that I didn't know I was voting for. Ugh.
You know all the hype about the electronic voting machines? Yeah, our precinct had 1. You had the choice of standing in line for the electronic machine or filling out the paper ballot. I went paper, Michelle went electronic. I finished first.
But I was disappointed that I didn't get to use it (I even ran the demo online!).
Oh well. I'm glad we voted. Now we can complain for the next year about anything we want! 'Cause remember, if you don't vote, you can't complain.
