Certifiable...

Yay! Monday, I passed my certification simulation for the back room in Mission Control. It's not the only thing I have to do to be certified -- there's a lot of paperwork and such I need to catch up on -- but it's the last test. This means two things:

  1. I'm sitting Orbit 3 for the next flight. 13A is scheduled to launch in March. Orbit 3 is the planning shift: the crew is asleep and we get to figure out how to get things done that got screwed up during the day.
  2. Also, I get to go into the front room flow. Front room is the Mission Control you see on TV. Pretty cool. I'm hoping to certify for front room in fewer sims than it took me to certify in the back room.

So, not much breathing room. But, it's a milestone behind me, and that's always good. Yay!!
