Station Sightings
We watched the space station sail overhead the other night with the Fitzgeralds. What a sight! It's incredible to believe that people I've met are living aboard that bright star, and even cooler to know that I'm scheduled to send commands to the vehicle next week.
As we watched, however, I realized that many people don't know they can see the space station from earth, much less how to figure out when! So, here's a good link to find out when the station will be overhead, with the sun in position to light it up: http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/index.html
Something to note about sightings: the higher the max elevation, the better the sighting. Elevation is how high above the horizon the station will be; 0 is at the horizon and 90 is directly overhead. There are other places to get ISS sightings, btut I think this is one of the easier things to use, especially the "Quick and Easy Sightings By City".
Have fun, and happy sightings!

"the world as we know it is getting smaller and smaller". How fortunate we are to be able to experience this! (does this give us more "bragging rights?")
