More Football!
As promised, we went to Austin to watch UT play Rice. The tickets we got were incredible. Section 29, on the 35 yard line, 34 rows up. It was great fun.
It wasn’t until after halftime that we noticed that my Aunt Kim and Uncle Denis were sitting not 10 seats from us on the same row. Wow, small world. So we joined them and their son, Austin (he’s named after the city, I’m named after the nearby lake, ya think our parents liked this school?), for a little after game snack. It was wonderful to see them, and it was great seeing UT win!
During the third quarter, we went over to see the Rice Band. Their director was my band director in high school. The Rice MOB obviously have a lot of fun all the time, and it really reminds me of our high school band. It’s great.
Okay, I’ve already uploaded some pictures for you to enjoy, but I also have a special treat. I took some video of the Longhorn Band (LHB…aka the Showband of the Southwest) performing the Wall-to-Wall march. It’s quite impressive. Enjoy!
