10A has launched!
The latest Shuttle flight to visit (and assemble) the International Space Station launched on Tuesday. One of the crewmembers, Dan Tani, provided my Dad and I passes to see the launch from onsite at Kennedy Space Center. It was awesome. Here’s a picture of us just before the launch. You can see the launch pad in the right side of the picture…barely. We were 5 miles away.

I wanted Mom and Michelle to come, too, but they couldn’t make it. Mom had to work, and Michelle had to be on console to work this mission Wednesday morning.
Footnote for this mission: this Shuttle is carrying Luke’s lightsaber from Return of the Jedi. Is it a coincidence that it launched at 11:38? I think not.

I wanted to see the launch with my own eyes, not through the lens of a camera. :P
