Back from Jamaica

We’re back from Jamaica, and we had a wonderful time! Here’s a quick recap:

We flew to Montego Bay, Jamaica on Sunday, April 27 through Miami, on American Airlines (I kept looking for AA employees that I recognized…I didn’t see any, though). We hopped on a little bus that took us to the Sandal’s Dunne River resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The ride was just about 2 hours long. By the time we got there, we had spent ~14 hours travelling, and so we were exhausted.

The next day we started the real fun. This was an all-inclusive resort, so we ate and drank whatever we wanted without having to worry about carrying around money. That was really awesome. We did go Scuba Diving on Tuesday, and took at trip to another Sandal’s resort down the road on Thursday. But other than that our days were spent eating, drinking, sleeping, reading, and swimming. It was great.

We left on Friday, May 2, had a small flight delay, and ended up getting home at ~1:00 am this morning (May 3). Luckily we were able to sleep in. :)

We took a bunch of pictures, mostly of the resort itself, which was beautifully landscaped. Check out all of them on our Picture Page. Here are a few that I wanted to share here:

Dinner at the Japanese restaurant, Kimonos.

The biggest Plumeria I’ve ever seen.

Part of the main pool at our resort. Notice the swim-up bar on the right.

It’s a papaya tree! Looks very similar to the ones that Travis’ parents are growing.

Another view of the pool, with a parasailer flying over.

Thanks for the report and glad you had such a good time! The pictures are great! We did wave as you flew over us both coming and going! Have fun with re-entry in the "real world." See you soon!
