It’s been a long time since we updated the blog. Sorry about that. As you will soon see, we have been busy lately. A lot of our free time has been spent on starting to build our new house and preparing our current one for its sale.

We have signed a contract with Meritage Homes, in the Centerpointe subdivision of League City, Texas.

For those who know where we currently are, we are basically moving to the East side of I-45, and north 1 exit. It’ll put us a little bit closer to work, and also closer to League City.

The plan we are building is called the Palestine. The house will be 2680 square feet, which is more than twice the size of our current house. It will have a 3 car garage (R2 and his tools get a garage spot, as does Michelle’s Camry and my Trans Am), and a study instead of a living room (in the front of the house). Here is the floorplan:

Here is a picture of the model of this plan. Note that we are not getting the option of the first and second floor front porch that this model shows, so it’s kinda hard to tell what it will look like. The brick will be red.

We really like the open kitchen/living room area. Here’s a few pictures of that area (from the model).

And last, but not least, here are a couple of shots of the lot. It’s on the road to a cul-de-sac, and on the interior of the neighborhood, which we think is ideal.

We’re looking forward to the new place. The moving and the selling of the old house? Eh…not looking forward to that as much. But there is no gain without some pain.
